It’s helpful to have a plan and a list of spots that will really help you find the products to sell on your eCom store.

Spot #1: Facebook

When I have chosen a niche, I like to start with Facebook, to look and see what the current trends are.

I like to start with Facebook because I use Facebook to attract targeted buyers to my sites – using social media marketing (organic) and paid targeted traffic, with Facebook ads.

You will see different pages and it will give you ideas of what is popular, what people are passionate about as well as different types of products people are selling on theses pages.

When you see a page with many fans, look for products sold on the page. It will give you an idea if it’s a passionate niche. If people talk about it, learn, read, comment and of course buy.

You can also get specific ideas for products in the niche. Look if there are many likes and comments under the products post. Necklaces, key chains, pendants, cool products, and gadgets are popular items people buy on Facebook.

Audience Insights on Facebook is also very powerful to find targeted interests and buyers.

To find page insights, click Insights at the top of your Page.

It’s important to know that insights are only available after 30 people like your Page.

To target passionate audiences – head over to Audience Insights on Facebook and type a keyword of your the category of your niche.

Check the pages that came up for your keyword.

See if they are selling something and, if they are, ask, do people react, comment and like the items or products that are sold? It will give you an idea if the niche is a passionate one and people are buying there. Not all niches are.

Spot #2: Amazon.com directory

Then I like to look in the Amazon.com directory.

This is the full Amazon directory and a real gold mine to find product ideas.

You will see many categories – get ideas, then you can click on a specific category and then sub-category and products, then you will see the popular ones on the top.

Jewelry, pet accessories, dogs, cats, outdoors, sports, fitness, things for the house, Collectables,

movies and series related items are popular.

But, of course, you can see for yourself, and dig deeper into the niche you have chosen.
